Introduction
Our client is a corporately owned 24-hour veterinary practice seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join their established and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, committed professional with a passion for providing exceptional out-of-hours care, working within a well-equipped practice supported by experienced night staff.

Working Hours / Rota
The role follows a 7 nights on, 21 nights off rota, providing an excellent work-life balance. During your shifts you will work alongside a dedicated Night RVN and a Twilight PCA for support during the busier early hours.

Role Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures, while ensuring exceptional client service through clear and compassionate communication. Duties will include preparing treatment and care plans, managing clinical handovers, and arranging transfers for patients requiring advanced or ongoing care. You will also play a key role in mentoring and developing team members, supporting best practice, and maintaining high clinical and operational standards.

Team Size
The practice currently operates with a team of 5–6 Veterinary Surgeons, with plans to expand further, supported by an experienced nursing and support team. Night shifts are supported by a Night RVN and Twilight PCA, ensuring a collaborative and well-structured workflow.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with prior out-of-hours experience and confidence in managing emergency cases. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as well as the ability to provide clear handovers to day teams. Clinical leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to mentoring colleagues are highly valued in this role.
