Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s hospital is an independently owned, RCVS-accredited small animal veterinary hospital providing round-the-clock care. Launched in 2020, the hospital has built a strong reputation for clinical excellence, compassion, and high-quality patient and client care, with a rapidly growing and loyal client base.
Working Hours / Rota
This is predominantly a night nurse role, working 19:15 – 08:15 on a structured rota of 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off. There may occasionally be opportunities to support the day team, with optional day shifts and overtime available by discussion. The role is based at the hospital site in Fulham and includes overnight emergency and inpatient care responsibilities.
Role Description
This varied role focuses primarily on overnight inpatient care, including medication administration, monitoring, and providing compassionate nursing care to hospitalised patients. You will also support emergency out-of-hours appointments, which may involve emergency surgery, diagnostic imaging, and admitting and triaging unwell patients. The hospital receives both internal and external referrals, and as the clinic continues to grow, the emergency and critical care aspects of the role are expected to expand.
Team Size
You will be part of a highly skilled, friendly, and collaborative team of vets, nurses, and support staff who value teamwork, development, and supporting one another in delivering exceptional care.
Practice Details
The hospital offers both routine and referral-level care, supported by modern facilities and cutting-edge technologies. It provides 24-hour veterinary services, places strong emphasis on staff development, and fosters a supportive working culture where team members are encouraged to grow, learn, and flourish.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys night work and thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will be confident, adaptable, and organised, with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care. A positive, collaborative attitude and interest in emergency and critical care are highly desirable.
Equipment
The hospital is equipped with capnography, CT scanning, ECG monitoring, endoscopy equipment, laboratory machines, radiography facilities, and ventilators.
