Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a corporately owned practice in Bolton and is seeking a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their dedicated 24-hour team. This role is ideal for nurses with a strong interest in emergency and critical care who are eager to provide high-quality care to inpatients during the night.
Working Hours / Rota
The rota follows a 1 week on / 2 weeks off pattern, working Monday to Monday. Each shift runs from 19:30 to 08:30. Alternative working patterns can be considered depending on candidate preference.
Role Description
As a Night RVN, you will be an essential part of the inpatient and emergency care team. Your responsibilities will include triaging emergencies, delivering intensive nursing care in the ICU ward, monitoring inpatients overnight, and assisting in theatre as needed. The varied medical and surgical caseload—along with weekly orthopaedic procedures—makes this a great opportunity for nurses passionate about ECC to thrive in a dynamic clinical environment.
Team Size
You will be joining a supportive and inclusive team in a practice that values every individual’s contribution. The culture is non-hierarchical, fostering a collaborative environment where all voices are heard and respected.
Practice Details
The Bolton site is one of three 24-hour hospitals operated by the group and is equipped with eight consulting rooms, three theatres, a CT scanner, and a dental suite with x-ray. The practice has designated dog and cat wards, including a specialised ICU ward for intensive nursing care. The practice operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC), the only veterinary CIC in the UK, with a mission to make pet healthcare more accessible and equitable.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a confident and compassionate RVN with experience in, or a keen interest in, emergency and critical care. You must be able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment and be committed to delivering excellent patient care overnight. ECC experience is advantageous but not essential, and support is available for those looking to further develop in this area.
