Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practice is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their Wrexham clinic. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an RVN who wants to make a genuine impact, fully utilise their nursing skillset, and play a key role in developing both people and clinical standards within a progressive, inclusive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week across a four-day working week. The rota includes 2 in 9 Saturday day shifts and a shared bank holiday rota. The structure is designed to support a healthy work-life balance while maintaining excellent clinical cover.

Role Description
As Lead RVN, you will be responsible for all aspects of veterinary nursing while also providing clinical leadership within the clinic. The role includes mentoring and developing colleagues, conducting one-to-one meetings, supporting best practice, and contributing to rota management. You will oversee compliance, health and safety standards, stock control, and regular team meetings, while also applying commercial awareness to help grow caseload and improve access to affordable, high-quality veterinary care.

Team Size
You will lead and support a dedicated nursing and clinical team working within a collaborative, non-hierarchical environment where every team member’s contribution is valued.

Practice Details
The clinic is modern and well-equipped, offering a calm and patient-focused environment. Facilities are designed to minimise stress for patients and support high clinical standards, with separate dog and cat areas and excellent surgical capacity. The practice culture is supportive, inclusive, and centred on clinical excellence rather than targets.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced RVN who is confident carrying out all aspects of nursing and ready to step into a leadership role. You will enjoy mentoring and coaching others, have experience or interest in rota management, and be comfortable overseeing compliance and operational standards. Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a desire to improve access to veterinary care are essential.
