Job Description

Introduction
Our client is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to take on a Lead Vet position at a newly renovated boutique-style practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon who wants to combine clinical excellence with leadership responsibility in one of London’s most prestigious locations.

The practice provides a modern and welcoming environment with strong clinical support, offering the chance to shape the direction of the clinic while delivering outstanding veterinary care to a loyal client base.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent full-time role within a first-opinion practice. The position includes a mixture of consultations, surgery and leadership responsibilities while working closely with the wider clinical team.

Practice Environment
The clinic is a recently refurbished practice located in the heart of Central London, offering a stylish and professional environment for both clients and colleagues.

Facilities include a spacious reception area, three consulting rooms, a modern preparation area and theatre, an in-house laboratory and digital X-ray equipment. The practice is supported by a skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse and a dedicated Client Care Assistant who manages front-of-house responsibilities.

The clinic also benefits from close collaboration with a nearby 24-hour hospital, providing access to advanced diagnostics and specialist support. This allows patients to receive seamless ongoing care while enabling the clinical team to follow cases beyond first-opinion level.

Role Description
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will take responsibility for the clinical leadership of the practice, ensuring high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.

Your responsibilities will include consultations, surgical procedures, diagnostics and case management while maintaining exceptional client communication. You will also work closely with the Practice Manager to support the operational and commercial performance of the clinic.

In addition to your clinical work, you will mentor and support colleagues, helping to develop clinical standards and maintain a collaborative team environment. The role provides significant autonomy, allowing you to influence how the practice operates while benefiting from support from a wider veterinary network.

There is also a potential pathway to branch partnership for candidates interested in combining clinical leadership with long-term practice ownership.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the RCVS and experienced in small animal practice.

Applicants should demonstrate strong clinical ability, excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high standards of veterinary care. Leadership experience or an interest in developing leadership skills is highly desirable.

This position would suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to lead a practice, inspire a team and play a key role in shaping the future of a well-established clinic.
