Job Description

Introduction
Our client is seeking a dedicated Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their well-established practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to take the next step in their career and lead a supportive clinical team while helping shape the future of the practice.

The clinic offers a welcoming and collaborative working environment with a loyal client base and access to an extensive network of veterinary professionals and advanced facilities nearby.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week.

The rota includes either 1 in 3 Saturdays or 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital.

Practice Environment
The practice is a modern, well-equipped clinic located in North London, providing a full range of veterinary services. Facilities include digital X-ray, dental equipment and in-house laboratory diagnostics, supporting a varied and interesting clinical caseload.

The clinic benefits from close collaboration with a nearby 24-hour hospital located approximately 10 minutes away. This provides access to advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities including MRI, CT, endoscopy, arthroscopy, ultrasound and multi-parameter monitoring.

All out-of-hours care is managed by the hospital team, ensuring patients have access to continuous care while allowing the practice team to focus on delivering high-quality daytime clinical services.

Role Description
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will provide clinical leadership within the practice while continuing to deliver exceptional patient and client care.

Your responsibilities will include consultations, surgical procedures, diagnostics and case management while maintaining the highest standards of clinical governance and regulatory compliance.

You will also play a key role in mentoring and supporting colleagues within the veterinary team, helping to develop clinical skills and promote a collaborative working culture. Working closely with the wider network of veterinary professionals, you will contribute to the continued development and success of the practice.

This role offers an excellent balance of clinical work, leadership responsibility and professional development opportunities.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the RCVS and experienced in small animal practice.

Applicants should demonstrate strong clinical skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality veterinary care. This role is well suited to an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to take on greater responsibility and guide a team while continuing to develop their own clinical and leadership expertise.
