Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned Hospital seeking a Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader to join a collaborative and purpose-driven environment. This role offers the opportunity to combine clinical leadership with hands-on veterinary work in a supportive hospital setting.

Working Hours / Rota
This role operates on a flexible shift pattern between 8:30am and 8:00pm Monday to Friday, with approximately 1 in 7–8 weekends and time off in lieu provided.

Role Description
The Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader will hold responsibility for clinical governance while leading a team of veterinary surgeons to deliver high standards of care. The role involves managing a surgically biased caseload, applying a pragmatic and evidence-based approach to clinical decision-making, and ensuring each patient receives appropriate and effective treatment.

In addition to clinical duties, the role includes overseeing recruitment, coaching, and development of team members, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture. The successful candidate will mentor colleagues, support knowledge sharing, and lead by example in maintaining professional and operational standards.

The position also involves collaborating closely with the wider clinical team to ensure efficient workflows, clear communication with clients, and continuous improvement in service delivery.

Team Size
The team consists of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, and support staff working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary hospital environment.

Practice Details
The hospital is a modern, well-equipped facility designed to support a wide range of clinical services. Facilities include separate dog and cat kennelling, in-house imaging, endoscopy, piped gases, and orthopaedic equipment.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon holding MRCVS status with strong clinical and leadership capabilities. Candidates should be confident managing a surgically focused caseload and demonstrate a pragmatic, evidence-based approach to patient care.
