Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is seeking a talented and motivated Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving multi-vet practice in West London. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated clinical team within a busy, well-established practice supported by a nearby 24-hour hospital with state-of-the-art technology. Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, with a 1 in 6 weekend rota at a nearby 24-hour hospital. The rota balances leadership responsibilities, clinical work, and personal wellbeing.
Role Description
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will oversee clinical excellence and team performance, ensuring the highest standards of patient and client care. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing the team, driving practice performance, maintaining compliance with professional and operational standards, and shaping the clinic’s future alongside the Practice Manager. The role provides clinical autonomy within a supportive network that encourages growth, collaboration, and career progression.
Team Size
You will lead a talented team of veterinary surgeons, nurses, and client care staff, supported by regional leads and clinical communities. Sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement within the wider network is encouraged.
Practice Details
The practice operates within a multi-site network, supported by a nearby 24-hour hospital. Facilities include multiple consulting rooms, two surgical theatres, a dedicated dental suite, in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and separate cat and dog wards. Advanced diagnostic tools and referral support are available to ensure the best possible patient care.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with proven clinical leadership experience and a strong background in general practice. You will be passionate about mentoring, proactive in teamwork, and committed to delivering exceptional patient and client care. Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills are essential.
