Introduction
Our Client’s practice is seeking a Head Vet to lead their modern, purpose-built Lincoln surgery. This is an exciting opportunity to spearhead continuous improvement in clinical standards, drive service development and support the team in achieving centre of clinical excellence status. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within the management team, shaping the strategic direction of the practice while delivering outstanding patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 39 hours per week across 4 days, with a 1 in 4 weekend rota. There are no out-of-hours requirements; however, the Head Vet will be on call for any overnight inpatients if required.

Role Description
As Head Vet, you will lead from the front clinically while driving high standards of evidence-based, gold standard care throughout the practice. You will coach and inspire colleagues, supporting their development and upskilling across a wide range of clinical areas. Alongside clinical duties including consultations, diagnostics and surgery, you will contribute to the strategic vision of the practice, working closely with the management team to enhance services and patient outcomes. This role offers significant scope for leadership growth and professional progression within a forward-thinking environment.

You will be leading a passionate and friendly team with a broad range of clinical interests. Many colleagues are working towards certificates, contributing to a collaborative and supportive learning culture within the practice.

The practice is purpose-built, modern, light and spacious, designed to create a calm environment for patients and a positive workplace for colleagues. As one of the newest surgeries within the group, it is equipped with the latest technology to support high clinical standards and advanced care delivery. The wider group is one of the UK’s largest independent, family-owned veterinary groups with a strong nationwide presence.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong all-round GP skills and a high level of clinical expertise. You will be confident in a leadership role, with the drive and passion to deliver against a clear strategic vision. Excellent communication skills, the ability to mentor and inspire colleagues, and a commitment to evidence-based, gold standard care are essential. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and team development is highly valued.
