Job Description

About The Role
Our client is looking for a Lead Veterinary Nurse to join their team at their independent practice.

Practice Details
The practice is a medium independent with a large team of RVNs and SVNs who have big plans to expand into a purpose-built hospital in the next few years.

They believe that patient welfare and good case continuity lead to better outcomes for their patients and a more fulfilled clinical team. Having their out-of-hours service on site, staffed by their dedicated team of night nurses means that they can achieve this.

Their RVNs are highly valued members of their clinical teams and the vets who work alongside them treat them as such. They are also encouraged to work within the full scope of their schedule 3 practice code and can be trained further in areas of interest, such as wound suturing and A-FAST and T-FAST ultrasound scanning.

Team Management
The nurse team leader will be responsible and accountable for the leadership and management of the nursing team. They will ensure excellent nursing care coverage for the veterinary centre clients and support the clinical team of vets.

Ideal Candidate
You will be a qualified RVN with at least 5 years of experience, with high standards of patient care. As well as being enthusiastic, positive and organised you will also be a strong team player. Management experience would be an advantage but not necessary.
