Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a corporately owned practice based in South West London, seeking a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their dedicated and community-focused team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role in a modern, well-equipped practice where client relationships and high standards of care are at the heart of everything they do.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent full-time role averaging 40 hours per week, typically worked over 4 or 5 days. Participation in a weekend rota will be required, though flexibility, including part-time hours, can be considered to suit the right candidate.

Role Description
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to the nursing team, oversee nurse-led consultations and Schedule 3 procedures, and support the veterinary surgeons with surgeries and patient care. Responsibilities include managing admissions and discharges, monitoring anaesthetics, dispensing and checking medications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role also involves mentoring, coaching, and developing the nursing team while promoting a collaborative, progressive culture across the practice and wider group.

Team Size
You will be joining a friendly and supportive team of experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Receptionists, all working together in a collaborative and positive culture. The practice is led by a Branch Partner, balancing the robust support of the wider corporate group with the autonomy of a locally invested leader.

Practice Details
The practice is a modern first-opinion small animal clinic, situated on a charming high street in one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods. With two bright consultation rooms, separate dental and surgical suites, digital and dental radiography, in-house laboratory facilities, and dedicated cat and dog wards, the practice is fully equipped to deliver outstanding care. Advanced anaesthetic and monitoring systems ensure the highest levels of safety and confidence in every procedure.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse with previous experience delivering exceptional patient and client care. You should be confident in leading a clinical team and have experience implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse consultations and clinics. Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills will be key to inspiring and engaging your colleagues.
