Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving network of practices across Hertfordshire and North London. This permanent position is ideal for a confident clinician looking for the stability of a permanent role combined with the variety of working across multiple well-established practices, supported by experienced teams and excellent clinical resources.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 36 hours across a 4-day week. The role includes flexibility to provide planned holiday cover across the region, with a variable day off depending on business needs. The rota also includes approximately two Bank Holidays per year, around two weeks of on-call cover annually, and one to two additional rotational shifts each year, offering an excellent balance between professional variety and work-life balance.

Role Description
The successful candidate will deliver outstanding first opinion veterinary care through consultations and routine surgery while working across a range of practices with varying caseloads. You will often work in sole charge and should be confident managing cases independently while also collaborating effectively with established veterinary teams. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of clinical environments, allowing you to broaden your experience while building strong relationships across the region. You will also contribute to mentoring colleagues, maintaining high clinical standards, and supporting the continued development of the wider veterinary community.

Team Size
You will work alongside a wide network of experienced Branch Partners, Lead Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, and dedicated support teams across multiple practices. A dedicated veterinary buddy will also provide ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition into the role.

Practice Details & Equipment
The practices within the region are modern and well-equipped, offering access to digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory facilities, and endoscopy at one location. You will also benefit from close links to a nearby 24-hour hospital, providing access to experienced emergency clinicians, inpatient care, and referral support. Clinical interests across the network include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, and cardiology, creating excellent opportunities for collaboration and continued professional development.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with at least three years of UK small animal experience. You will be confident consulting independently, performing routine surgical procedures, and comfortable working in both sole charge and collaborative environments. Adaptability, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care are essential, alongside a commitment to ongoing professional development.
