Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned Hospital seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their 24-hour hospital team. This exciting position offers the opportunity to specialise in either wards and inpatient care or surgical nursing, within one of London’s busiest and best-equipped veterinary hospitals.

Rota Details
This is a full-time role working four days per week, with 1 in 6 weekends on a rota basis.

Information About the Practice
The hospital operates as a flagship site within a large veterinary group, providing round-the-clock care and referral support to surrounding branches across North West London and the South of England. The hospital team comprises a diverse mix of experienced RVNs, SVNs, Veterinary Surgeons, and support staff who work collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient care. The working culture is friendly, professional, and highly supportive, offering excellent opportunities for ongoing development and progression.

Description of the Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for providing high-quality inpatient or surgical nursing care, depending on their area of interest. Duties include assisting with surgical procedures, delivering continuous patient monitoring, supporting anaesthesia, and ensuring the highest standards of pre- and post-operative care. Additional responsibilities include running nurse-led clinics, dispensing medications, maintaining compliance with clinical and operational standards, and acting as a clinical coach to support and mentor SVNs within the hospital.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal applicant will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with experience working in a hospital or referral environment. They should possess strong clinical and organisational skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and the ability to work effectively within a large, multidisciplinary team. Experience in mentoring or coaching student nurses is desirable, as is a proactive attitude and enthusiasm for professional growth.

Practice Equipment List
This hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including MRI, CT, endoscopy, arthroscopy, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and multi-parameter monitoring. It also features an in-house laboratory, dedicated surgical and diagnostic suites, spacious staff areas, and a private garden for staff use. The hospital manages a wide variety of complex and referral-level cases, ensuring exposure to advanced procedures and continuous learning opportunities.
