Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a corporately owned small animal practice based in Teesside, and they are looking to welcome a Registered Veterinary Nurse to their established and growing team. With exciting development plans on the horizon including a possible relocation and installation of a CT machine this is an ideal time to join a practice that values both high-quality care and a positive team culture.

Working Hours / Rota
The role can be tailored to suit full-time or part-time preferences. Full-time hours typically consist of four 11-hour days (8am to 7pm). Some participation in the Saturday rota is preferred, but there is no requirement for Sunday or bank holiday work, allowing for excellent work-life balance.

Role Description
This is a varied nursing role encompassing theatre duties, nurse consults, and Schedule 3 procedures if desired. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in animal care, treatment preparation, diagnostic procedures, and client communication. Those who are not already clinical coaches should be open to taking on this role, as supporting Student Veterinary Nurses is a valued part of the team culture. You’ll be supported in pursuing your clinical passions, with several RVNs already working towards certificates in medicine, anaesthesia, and surgical nursing.

Team Size
You’ll be joining a friendly, loyal, and experienced team that includes RVNs, VCAs, and ANAs, several of whom are pursuing post-qualification certificates. The practice environment is collaborative, client-focused, and supportive of both clinical and personal growth.

Practice Details
This is a four-site small animal practice, with locations in Hartlepool, Billingham, Horden, and Sedgefield, and a long-standing presence in the community. The Hartlepool site is the largest and acts as the central hub.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with previous experience in small animal practice. They will be self-motivated, conscientious, and enthusiastic, with a desire to build rapport with clients and develop a long-term role within the team. A strong work ethic, good communication skills, and the ability to mentor student nurses are key. The practice is looking for someone who can bring their passion to the workplace and help others grow around them.
