Our Client’s practice is a corporately owned, RCVS-accredited small animal practice seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and long-established team in Helston, Cornwall. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking to achieve a strong work-life balance while working within a supportive, community-focused environment in a desirable coastal location.

Working Hours / Rota

This is a permanent, full-time Veterinary Surgeon role working a four-day week. There is no out-of-hours commitment, and the rota includes one in four Saturday mornings, providing an excellent balance between clinical work and personal time.

Role Description

This role offers a varied and rewarding caseload, combining routine consultations, surgery, and the opportunity to be involved in more unusual cases through the practice’s relationship with the Cornish Seal Sanctuary. You will work closely with a tight-knit and collaborative team to deliver high-quality clinical care and excellent client service.

The practice is highly supportive of professional development, with CPD and certificate study actively encouraged. You will be supported to build on your clinical interests while contributing to a respected and long-standing local practice.

Team Size

The team consists of four Veterinary Surgeons, four Registered Veterinary Nurses, and two Student Veterinary Nurses. The practice has a welcoming and collaborative culture, with colleagues sharing interests both inside and outside of work, helping to create a positive and supportive working environment.

This RCVS-accredited mixed practice has been serving the local community since the 1870s and is known for its strong team ethos and commitment to high standards of care. Located in the historic market town of Helston, the practice is surrounded by some of Cornwall’s most attractive countryside and coastline, offering an excellent quality of life. Despite its rural feel, the area benefits from good transport links and nearby amenities.
